I'm stuck on a train somewhere between London Bridge and Farringdon staring at rooftops. Should be there in a little while though

alexlynham10:12:51

Already put a few faces to avatars

alexlynham10:12:35

I am wearing a t-shirt I made specially for the workshop I was originally doing at clojurex before it was cancelled

3Jane07:12:52

! I was going to ask you where the t-shirt was from

3Jane07:12:12

and I didn't, and it was gonna bug me, so thanks for explaining here XD

alexlynham10:12:50

it’s got a single opening paren on it so come say hey

flefik10:12:33

Are you doing a workshop today?

alexlynham10:12:05

no, it would have been one of the ones yesterday (had clojurex happened)

alexlynham10:12:42

this opening talk reminds me of the dactyl talk

yogidevbear10:12:48

I'm wearing a Mary Kenneth Keller T-Shirt today

flefik10:12:31

Shall we just meet in some designated corner at the first break?

alexlynham10:12:13

(talk is linked in the readme if you are curious later 😮 )

yogidevbear10:12:45

Are you recovered from the car encounter @alex.lynham?

alexlynham10:12:26

I shaved, so if you look closely you can see where there was missing skin but yeah, p much haha

alexlynham10:12:03

wow dedication is holding a mic with your hand like that

Jcaw15:12:36

I made a dactyl-manuform a while ago. It's a cool piece of kit.

alexlynham15:12:36

There are some p good deals on dactyl cases printed atm for black Friday, saw a 4x6 manuform for about 130 bucks and was tempted, as that was with hotswaps and diodes soldered. Think you just had to do the controller

Jcaw22:12:50

With hotswaps? That's great. Do you have a link?

alexlynham08:12:54

Looks like their black fri sale is over though

alexlynham08:12:32

What I really want is a helidox with a bowl like a dactyl or manuform

Jcaw11:12:40

Nice, thank you

Jcaw11:12:52

FWIW I wouldn't recommend the manuform specifically. I don't actually think it's ergonomic unless your thumbs are 4 inches long and can rotate back on themselves. Helidox looks a lot more pleasant.

alexlynham13:12:11

I find the helidox excellent for day to day work. It’s simple and the keys are always under your fingers because it’s so small. I do wonder if an ergo bowl version of it would be just the icing on the cake, ya know? Possibly over-optimisation at that point. The single big thumbs on it are excellent certainly - it’s what I prefer over the ergodox. Very foolproof. My keymap has left thumb for space, right for enter and it works well

alexlynham15:12:17

And I've built a couple of helidoxes (one regular, one hotswap) so happy to do assembly like

folcon16:12:45

How’s re:clojure going? Pretty frustrated as I’m currently not feeling well enough to travel >_<…

thomas16:12:48

alexlynham16:12:54

wait, you’re here @thomas ?

jasonbell22:12:54

@alex.lynham he’s not that difficult to miss!

alexlynham08:12:41

Ha, well I don't know what people look like (mostly)

jasonbell08:12:31

In all fairness @thomas doesn’t know what anyone looks like, just the hairstyles 😉

thomas20:12:52

LOL

otfrom17:12:39

@alex.lynham he's difficult to see among humans as lego minifigs are quite short.

alexlynham19:12:52

Well I managed to talk to @ben.hammond for about thirty minutes before the light 💡 eventually clicked on so clearly I can't be trusted to put a name to a face

dominicm20:12:58

I just introduce myself by username

alexlynham21:12:19

@dominicm wait, were you there as well?

alexlynham21:12:55

Also I'm pretty sure I said the phrase out loud "I work for mccraigmccraig" at least once today lol
