is there any image preview layer or possibility in spacemacs? Especially when working with may (links to) images, it may be nice to see you're actually using the right one 😛.
@kurt-o-sys - I remember my spacemacs opening images, but I don't think I added any layers about that. Have you tried just opening the image normally, e.g. with SPC f f

- well, doesn't work for url's. I'm using eww now, seems to work good enough. Thanks!
