I think the most recent concerts I've been to were Amanda Palmer / Edward Ka-Spel (Legendary Pink Dots); Throbbing Gristle; Morrissey. All in small venues.

Hi ! are there any academics around here ? I have some questions I would like to ask you, I need some input πŸ™‚

@alexmiller your son has great taste

I went to the Foo Fighters last Monday. It was really crowded, but a nice show, even while Dave had problems with his voice.

bronsa13:06:57

I went to see A Perfect Circle yesterday, they killed it. King Crimson gig in november, can’t wait

Aleksander13:06:47

Went to Amanda Palmer earlier this year as well. Amazing concert!

borkdude14:06:01

@bronsa whoa, King Crimson πŸ™‚

bronsa14:06:19

second time I get to see them, I’m hyped :)

seancorfield15:06:29

@dev964 Where did you see AFP?

Aleksander15:06:20

London, Union Chapel

Aleksander15:06:32

seancorfield16:06:59

Peter Hammill did an amazing concert at Union Chapel years ago.

Philip Hale18:06:46

Amanda Palmer and Morrissey must have been pretty different crowds

seancorfield20:06:56

AFP was supposed to be Morrissey's support act but she got sick and had to cancel 😞 It was the third time I'd seen Morrissey (and would have been the first time I'd see AFP).

Here's a decent article on the shape optimisation one. This really is so cool :-) https://m.phys.org/news/2017-12-scientists-erosion-unusual.html

eggsyntax20:06:59

(the article is still just a summary, but it's at least a bit more than the paper abstract is)

And here's what appears at first glance to be the full paper: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-017-17777-1

As long as you want your processing capacity measured in something like picohertz, I guess
