We have a winner!!! @ryantate was the first to figure out what's with the weird heading captions. Concratulations to Ryan!
As Ryan himself put it: "the headers from your blog post are quotes from the 2012 (original/first) ClojuTRE announcement website"
Kiitos paljon for the fun contest and the chance to win this ticket!! Also while I have not been to ClojuTRE (discovered Clojure only in 2019) I have enjoyed numerous talks online over the last three years including @ikitommi on “Naked Performance,” Richard Feldman on “Why Isn’t Functional Programming the Norm,” and Alex Miller’s “Lessons Learned”. As I told @jarppe , “I am now extra excited for ClojuTRE to awaken in R’lyeh, drink lots of Finnish coffee, and wreak havoc (and enlightenment) on the global Clojure community!” I see some people are not sure if ClojuTRE will return. This conference reminds me a bit of the character Nikander in the Aki Kaurismaki film Shadows in Paradise (Varjoja paratiisissa), maybe some of you have seen it. At one point his coworker dies, and he gets so drunk he ends up in jail. But he makes a friend there. And later he is dumped by his would-be girlfriend on the first date, but this leads to a road trip romance. Then at the end he has a terrible breakup, is beaten badly at the port, and is in the hospital for an extended period. This leads to marriage and honeymoon and Talinn. Maybe ClojuTRE has been beaten around a bit but I know it will come back some day with new strength. Like Nikander except a bit larger and not as physically fit. (Well, I sure hope it’s coming back, I have a “vested interest” now 😂) Happy holidays ❄️ ⛄ 🧣 🎅
