Anyone seen any good conference talks in the last 6 months? Just looking for recommendations.

Not about Clojure, but I really liked this one I saw yesterday: https://vimeo.com/338443790. “Scott Wlaschin - Four Languages from Forty Years Ago” About what we can learn from SQL, Prolog, ML and Smalltalk nowadays.

Nothing comes to my mind, but @UGNFXV1FA one seems nice. Did some Prolog at University, and still want to give Smalltalk a try.

the guy certainly has a point

i have been an imperative guy for most of time behind the computers, when go-lang came along everybody was like "oh wow, this is so new" ... and i was so confused ... because i saw nothing new

just a bit different syntax and new problems instead of some old

Nice talk! I'm old enough to have learned Prolog and ML at university (not part of any of my courses, but just because they were available on our computer systems. Then I learned Smalltalk some time later (again, just for fun). SQL is the only one of those four I learned for work 🙂

This one is important for systems which want reactivity from the DB to the client: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgqFlowyfTA
