morning
morning
How are the JUXT peeps settling into the new office space?
What's your opinion about having a track of workshops/tutorials at the next ClojureEx? I'm not organiser, but would like to suggest/help if that's something useful
for example the Sunday before 4 tutorials 4 hours each 2 tracks? The idea is to address topic like getting started with Clojure, transducers, core.async, clojurescript etc etc
@reborg thatโs a great idea.
@jonpither is on the board I think
We should have the physical space for workshops during the ClojureX conference. I was thinking of doing something practical between 6.30pm and 9pm on the first day.
To do workshops in the weeks before the ClojureX conference would be fun. I can ask SkillsMatter if they would host. Weekday daytime workshops may limit the audience. Alternatively we could do a series of evening workshops over series of weeks. Like meetups but more regular....
All this is dependant on people volunteering to give these.
Of course, glad to see there some thinking already. Happy to get onboard, finding workshops and organising them (I have a couple myself ready)
SkillsMatter not keen on hosting weekend events, so an alternate host suggestiins are welcome.
If people want to share topics of workshops they want to give (and how long they take) then we can see what the options are.
I can do a 2 hour "Clojure with Spacemacs" workshop. Or "Intro to ClojureScript & Reagent" for about 2 hours
perhaps @malcolmsparks could contribute one from the juxt portfolio ๐
I'm sure this has been tried before, but would it be practical to try and deliver these workshops/tutorials online?
@yogidevbear interesting. I guess if slides and labs are online and you have "chat" access to tutors, that would make it an online experience. Or not?
@reborg Maybe it could be enhanced with audio/video chat and screen sharing / pair programming in the form of something like screenhero? Might possibly be too complicated to get it working, especially in larger groups for instance
Hi @yogidevbear new office is great thanks. Having to spend a couple of days on client sites so can't wait to get back to it and to assemble the foosball table and put up the giant wall sticker... lots of cardboard and stuff to dispose of. Our administrator had done a fab job in ordering things :-)
Retail therapy galore
Also, your office administrator roars with laughter every time she sees that picture with Ricky in ๐
Hahaha
I'm sure it's going to look really awesome once it's up on the wall
Hahaha brilliant!
He gets to live existentially through JUXT ๐
That said, I'd love one of those autonomous desks
He is such a cool dude. Looks like a thug but runs a top end restaurant review magazine business on the side
Wow, I didn't realise that
He seems pretty cool
Very friendly with Cath on email
I bet
@yogidevbear at the price point, they're really great. Easy to assemble. I couldn't see barely a ripple in the beer on the desk when it was moving. I felt extremely ergonomic this morning when I used it.
I believe your bar fridge will be arriving soon. Need to keep those 256 beers cool
