@thomas I can't afford the time to go to #C04V12NPC much as I would like to.
I'll have to plan ahead to go next year.... before I need a visa!
breaking my Euroclojure suite this year, have been to them all.
The best by far was the first one.
speaking of favourite euroclj, I’ll always remember the 2+ hours chatting with Rich in Krakow
@agile_geek: yes.. time is very valuable.
Looking forward to next Tuesday. Going to the London Clojure meetup.
Haven't looked at spec. at all yet.
@malcolmsparks: Might see you there if I get time to go.
I give up. pre-fix comparison operators are impossible #LispFail
And yes, I've heard all memory-tricks to make them readable
(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
yeah, its me, I know 🙂
boris standing down
"If you break it you own it" doesn't apply apparently
he is clever enough to understand that PM is a poison chalace
he values being popular more than country/duty
maybe he is playing the long game
He will be the next tory PM, after all the grunt work is done
It's ok. We'll have May as our PM next and then we can kiss the technology sector goodbye.
the least she cloud do, the problem is the fact that it crossed her mind for more then 5 seconds.
ECHR is independent of EU membership and is written into the Good Friday Agreement. Westminster Gov't can't get out of that w/o renegotiating peace in Norn Iron
I miss the old days when I used to compulsively refresh Teh Graun just to see which famous person had died that day
speaking of which, Alvin Toffler died today. I suppose the Brexit news was just too much for him
I'm beginning to feel like taking a month off work, switching off all my electronic devices and living at my mum's house in the middle of the fens might be a good idea
Cool and yes she is.
BTW seriously, if you fancy getting away from it all this actually is my Mum's static caravan at the bottom of her garden https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/12421095?guests=1&s=4BA5xeTh
try that
I told yer
She has 4 Red Dexters (cows)
the Heron is a (regular) visitor but not a pet
If you flick tho pictures you can see the 1/3 of an acre of orchard which is lovely.
tbh, I'm too city to get that far away from things. But will be spending a few weeks poolside somewhere in September.
You can tell I'm a country boy at heart. Grew up there from age of 13-18 and in the general area from 4 years old.
I apologise to those expecting talk about Clojure in this channel as you may think you've tuned into an episode of Country File or the Archers. Normal service will be resumed
i’m of a similar mind, end my contract and go find a nice cave somewhere to hide in
surprisingly flat @agile_geek
@thomas: it's the Cambridgeshire Fens. Mostly at or slightly below sea level. Was swamp land reclaimed by Medieval farmers and 4th Earl of Bedford. Several 100 thousand years ago it was joined to the Netherlands.
I live in North East (Washington, Tyne and Wear) now but I grew up in Cambridgeshire
