If using evil mode, diw when in the whitespace will do this, but not across newlines. Looks like there's an error thrown when on an empty line actually, which I'll look to fix. In holy mode, fixup-whitespace (M-SPC) gets you close, but leaves one space, and also doesn't cross newlines.
