Not sure if schism matters in the long run but I would love to see some lisp get a big company endorsement

I would much rather have to convince someone of clojure over scheme than clojure over JavaScript

MacOS Homebrew's java cask now using OpenJDK instead of OracleJDK 🎉 https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-cask/pull/52556

“…Two of Elemental’s biggest early clients were the Mormon church, which used the technology to beam sermons to congregations around the world, and the adult film industry, which did not.” Wait, what did I just read??

It is a little odd reading that Bloomberg article how often it says that there are no named sources of their information, and that all responses from Bloomberg's inquiries have been met with the answer that their claims are not true.

I know post-Snowden that it makes one wonder whether the official responses are legally obligated by US law not to say anything, but it just seems a bit fishy is all.

These things are really difficult in public forum. Evidence is so easily twisted to make you believe a narrative. We all know this is theoretically possible. I might withold judgement on this one and see how it plays out, ignoring my gut that suggests this obviously happened

I haven't read the article fwiw, but I just noticed my initial position was to assume truth. Not healthy.

It sounds plausible to me that what they are claiming happened did happen, although tech-wise it sounds pretty difficult to implement a chip deep down in a system that can call home regardless of the software on it. That said, nation states have lots of resources to devote to such a problem. I was curious so read through it, then noticed the pointer to the Apple article in my inbox (because of an email list I am on for Macs).

Bloomberg's claims sound like the kind of story some other news orgs would try to follow up on and expand upon, if they can.
