I like the approach of putting the files to deploy in a /doc
directory in the root of the project and making that the source of the GitHub pages. But for org repositories, eg. http://clojurebridge.github.io, I still prefer using a separate repository on GitHub.
So https://clojurebridgelondon.github.io/landing-page-draft/ is served from /doc
on the master branch as I develop the page.
But I'll deploy the live site to the stand alone https://github.com/ClojureBridgeLondon/clojurebridgelondon.github.io repository.
