Morning ☕
morning
is there a library there?
@agile_geek - Are you being paid, at least?
@agile_geek just go back to drinking Lemon Zinger and reading PopBitch….. (wonders if anyone will get the reference)
@jasonbell - It’s not an Office Space thing, is it? (Only seen it once, but it feels__ like that movie)
@jasonbell - Please tell me, I have been wracking my brain instead of cheating (heading to Google) or writing the code that I should__ be writing.
@maleghast It’s from “In The Loop” where Jamie McDonald (the crossest man in Scotland) delivers his to do list to Toby, the aide. 🙂
Ah, a film that I have been “getting around to” for far too long… Sounds to me as though I need to pull my finger out and watch it - I think that I might enjoy it quite a lot… 🙂
@chrjs nice gif...I have to wait until I'm outside the Faraday cage of a building I'm in to read any emails or social media!
Where are you working @agile_geek ?
Canary Wharf
how many people from this channel do you think we could get to simultaneously appear on http://appear.in/uk-clojure
I want to get a picture of UK clojurians for the blog I'm doing on @mccraigmccraig
Can do, though being a Northerner I’ve never actually been to London Clojurians 😯 whistles inconspicuously
sorry - change it to http://appear.in/uk-clojure
@mccraigmccraig hasn't shaved
@jonpither I can, but only “virtually” - I am in Scotland…
(for a fair while, if truth be told @jasonbell )
@mccraigmccraig 🙂 you could sell offcuts on ebay and we could be all like you 🙂
don't tell anyone - that's my backup business plan!
I understand now - I followed the link and now I am all alone in a video-conference room 58 minutes too soon
@mccraigmccraig I knew it!
@here
doesn’t work here
was that a webrtc thingy ?
It’s still surprising that video-conferencing isn’t a solved problem
if so, i think webrtc might not be quite production-ready
even now, in the future
what do you bu for 200k that solves it?
moar bandwidth?
I’m not sure that was filmed in realtime
have you started to encode all the nouns in your life as numbers @minimal ?
@PMWestmacott
apparently - but I view twitter as read-only and very occasionally.
I think video conferencing is something I will leave alone until we’ve got a Fibre connection in the glen…
BT are promising to have rural connectivity totally sorted by 2073 @maleghast
the lawyers for an ex-company of mine had telepresence in UK and US so some colleagues had a meeting using it once. It comes with its own internet connection
@mccraigmccraig - Aye, I know… There are strong__ rumours that we are going to get a submarine cable from Tarbet across Loch Lomond, but I am not holding my breath…
That fan on the wall behind me makes me look as though I’ve got an odd pink hat on…
I feel summoned! Sorry folks, haven't been here for a while, babies + work have chewed up my clojure time.
I had some cases where hikari reported a (potential) connection leak but it always ended up being a database or slick issue. might be worth checking the query states?
I have had a connection leak for the last couple of days and can't seem to work it out
Ah bummer, I missed the group get-together
@djtango - I am afraid I have not… I am currently trying to get the hikari component for duct working with my project (doesn’t use hikari-cp), so if I find that’s stable I’ll let you know…
@maleghast I came across that in my googling - let me know how you get on. Good luck!
@djtango - FWIW, I got the hikari component for duct working in my (non-duct) component app, so I would give it a big thumbs up. IT would behoove me to say that it’s not been load-tested in my app (at all), all I am conferring on it is that as a drop-in replacement for what I was doing it’s very good. 🙂 Cheers!
