@slipset @lee whoops, I pushed a fix for a problem in https://github.com/clj-commons/ordered directly to master, sorry for that, I thought I was pushing to my fork. But I do think it fixed the problem I had. 😅 Now I need a new release, but circleci seems to suffer from bitrot

borkdude15:03:33

I'll just roll back to the old version of ordered I was using in babashka

borkdude15:03:06

@lee About upgrading ordered in clj-yaml: this isn't great for downstream projects that are using clj-yaml with native img

Good to know, thanks @U04V15CAJ.

borkdude15:03:25

I will return to this after I put out some other fires

lread15:03:45

I'm away from oss for maybe a couple more days, can lend a hand if need be when I get back.

borkdude15:03:19

ok, enjoy whatever you do!

lread15:03:46

parental tech support, my other job! simple_smile

borkdude15:03:01

to your parents, or to your children?

borkdude15:03:35

since my dad took over my apple laptop (instead of his windows laptop) I have a whole lot less support problems

lread15:03:59

Ah yes, good question. To my parents!

lread15:03:24

Yeah moved my parents to an iMac a while ago.

borkdude15:03:34

they're both still alive, that's great. are they in canada too?

lread15:03:34

Yep, part of support is learning and setting up an Boox Note Air 2 for my 89 year old mother. She's such a geek!

borkdude15:03:07

ah, e-book, nice

lread15:03:45

Yep we are all in Canada. They are about 200km away from me, which is a bit far as they age.

borkdude15:03:53

mine are 111 km away

lread16:03:28

One reason I chose the Boox is because it allows me to use RustDesk should there be a need for remote support/training.

When I moved from England to California over 20 years ago, I tried to persuade my then 66-year-old mother to take my Mac and internet connection so it would be easy to stay in touch etc (and I offered to pay for the Internet connection as long as she wanted). She wanted nothing to do with it. My then 75-year-old father was online all the time (they divorced when I was a kid). Mum is still a complete technophobe at almost 90. My dad was internet-savvy right up to the end (2017).

My mom doesn't really use computers, but she uses emoticons in whatsapp like someone who grew up with it. Very easy to stay in touch that way

seancorfield19:03:08

My mum still has a flip phone:scream:

My Mom's a geek-at-heart, and much more fluent/creative in emoji than I am! My Dad's an engineer, but mostly uses the computer and his iPad for games.
