Hello, I am Hasan. I have been programming in other languages for some years, saw some new features being added to those languages or ecosystems that are more functional despite being predominantly oo languages (take Linq as an example). Always thought there were some form of art and i like being an artisan. That's why I started learning Clojure (I almost completed my first project in Clojure for a ravendb client, https://github.com/HassanYA/ravenousdb) and currently in the rabbit hole of learning emacs lmao.

Emacs is great, but if you know IntelliJ, Cursive is also great. And there are other options. fyi

i started out with lighttable, i left it when i knew it was deprecated. Then used IDEA, while it was good, I really like the eval results showing up in the same line as code. perhaps, a stupid reason to shift. perhaps there is a way to set that up in cursive but i take it that emacs would (hopefully) be a long term investment

Yes, great long term investment. Once mastered, it can edit anything, no need ever to change again. 🤞
