@U0AQ3HP9U a friend of mine who had to code in Salesforce Apex (a kind of crippled bastardised version of Java that enabled u to extend SF) in the early 2010's described it as how he imagined being a prisoner in Little Ease https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Ease so that might give you an idea of what it was like. (Haven't had the pleasure of going anywhere near it for over 10 years now and I hope never to be forced to again!)
