fixed up my bike and had a good weekend of riding around. I hope everyone else had a good weekend too
nope, wanted to ride the bike, but something broke and I had no replacement; will fix tomorrow – weather stays nice 🙂
I need new brake pads, I’m rubbing aluminium on aluminium right now. 🙈
@synthomat @ordnungswidrig what do you ride? Can you share pics?
I’m riding a 1997 hardtail, a Cube Acid 🙂 I would need to dig out a picture.
Cantilever brakes, nothing fancy like my daughters have on their bikes 😛
the 1997 version of this? https://www.cube.eu/en/2020/bikes/mountainbike/hardtail/acid/
Ye old lady. I managed to match the tulips’ colour by accident. :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:
I had matching glasses and the original saddle was yellow. As these a regular pedals, I don’t need bike shoes 😉
Ah, sorry, V-brakes they are
@otfrom I guess so, but I’ve been told that the quality was way higher back then. Honestly I head to replace the headset bearings one and this gears and chains.
I did zero maintenance to the front suspension and it works like a charm.
my Brompton is in the shop atm, but I'm having a silly amount of fun on my Surley Pugsley https://photos.app.goo.gl/Md9gsrLRGSaxtJnh8
To be honest, this bike has not see many trails, but I did not handle it with care at all. 🙂
I've got lots of good easy dune, beach, and bog riding near me and this is perfect for it
when it’s dry brakes work perfec technically… I’m sliding with the tyres, but during rain they literaly don’t work at all 😄
haha, I had my bike for like two days and decided to go down that small trails in the woods as a shortcut. There had been rain in the night before. Well, the brakes worked fine but I sled the whole trail on a fixed read weel and stopped right next to that major road 🙂 I was quite happy to have bought a quality bike
@synthomat just make sure the brakes bite better than the tires 😉
I’m still looking for an excuse to buy a new bike. But the frame and everything just fit me so well. (Maybe I’m just so used to it)
@otfrom how are the fat wheels when you’re not riding downhill?
I imagine accelerating is harder.
in clojure news.... does anyone here use peek/pop/conj when working with vectors to preserve the order in the vector?
I'm scanning messages in a channel that are sorted and if two things clash, I want to keep the latest one
I’m always confused when people use peek
and pop
:)

Hey Ray!
