If I copy just the algorithm the code implements and not the code itself do I still need to include its license? For example, If I rewrite in Clojure some function that was originally written in Rust
Copyright protects creative work not the ideas. so you don't have to include the license but there are some caveats if there is a patent that covers some generic solution for the problem.
