@kamuela: @doddenino here's an email thread that I had initiated when I was getting started and needed IDE advice. Its a good comparison between cursive and emacs -- https://cursive-ide.com/archive/1643.html Also another more indepth one -- https://cursive-ide.com/archive/1668.html
@moizsj thanks! The second link sums all my doubts, more out less. For me it's mainly helm, keyboard for everything and the fact that I'd have to use both webstorm and idea. I'll read all the answers, thanks again!
@doddenino: the answers show that most things are covered by Cursive (and then some extras)
@moizsj yeah, I'm trying to figure out how to do things I usually do with emacs.I finally figured out how the fuzzy search works in intellij, even though it's a little annoying 😄
@moizsj is it possible to export/import all users settings in idea? So that I can configure webstorm and import everything in idea, and then keep a single configuration file backupped somewhere?
@doddenino: @moizsj: Right, there’s File->Import/Export Settings - AFAIK that should work to pass settings from WebStorm to IntelliJ. There’s also a plugin for syncing settings to a git repo: https://github.com/develar/settings-repository
Thanks guys, today I'll force myself to work all day with webstorm and see how it goes
hello everyone! could you please suggest some articles / books about general principles in site design... The proportions / positions / some general recommendations where to put the buttons, menus, etc... would really apreciate any input! thx!
@jethroksy: thanks!
thanks @moizsj I’ll take a look, but I think I’m settled on Cursive for the moment
@kamuela: I installed Cursive and all the paren helpful things it does drives me mad.
@tesseract: It's called structural editing and can be turned off via shortcut or in the bottom-right corner of intellij by clicking on the text
