hi, everyone! Digital Alchemy is hiring a junior Clojure developer to help with some infosec 🔓 projects with a big Fortune 500 client. Part-time, mostly remote, 10 hours a week at $20/hr to start, with raises every month based on progress. Perfect if you’re starting in Clojure(Script) and want some real-world experience in infosec. 🙂 Ping me for any questions, please include your resume and/or portfolio. Non-traditional students encouraged to apply! (USC required)
... $20/hour? For a job that sometimes requires travel/commuting? Do I have that right?
Also it's big Fortune 500 and USC is probably university in California...? What are rent prices around there?
where are you located? does USC mean "US citizenship" or something else? is this for college students or anyone?
It's a bit concerning so I got to say something - policing pay rates for junior part-time deals might broadcast discouraging signals to anyone looking to hire.
I think there is a distinction between "Junior Clojure developer" and "Junior developer to work with Clojure"
I think I would call "I stopped my studies for 5+ years and I work in CERN under the same University's name" fairly unconventional (This was a real person that I've met in CERN but he was way too cool (in many ways) to do Clojure for 20$/h and could easily get a C/C++ job as that's what he was doing in CERN (also he didn't like my Clojure 😄 )). Also me myself was stopping studies because I was burned out from jobs (in Bachelor's and Master's). So it's not a good thing to do (I tried to learn and work at the same time (half-time, then full-time, then full-time again (I know my Clojure stuff but I don't have anything else in life basically))).
