Re yesterday's discussion, I wfh'd this week and it was the most productive thing ever. Being able to go for a walk when stuck, and to cook my own food, made a huge difference
At the same time, I went down to the office for something almost every day, so it wasn't entirely isolated. I've done proper remote ("drive several h to the office once every couple months") for a year, and that drove me crazy b/c of loneliness. I'm not sure how to reconcile these two. Maybe it's not that remote is really good, it's that the current office trend (everyone together in a huge room, pointless meetings allthetime) is really bad.
I'm fortunate to work, presently, in an open office that is super quiet, but I have worked in open offices that are a mix of sales, marketing, support and developers (not to mention C-Levels)
Yet, they persist, since sticking everybody in one room is a lot cheaper than having offices for "knowledge" workers
