are any of you around Leicester (Nottingham, Coventry, Birmingham, Derby etc.?) - any meetups?
@colin.yates I (miss)-organise @birminghamfp on twitter. It's language agnostic, and young. Most members want scala and / or Haskell predominantly although there are a could of clojurians..
@paulspencerwilliams: thanks for the info. I haven’t used twitter for a while (slack is distracting enough), but I will sign up.
@colin.yates: you don’t have to. There’s not much on twitter, but there’s a meetup group if that’s better - less noise.
@colin.yates: there’s also a slack group that’s fairly quiet at the moment.
how lame is that - clicking on that link in slack takes me to a new web page which wants me to login to slack - bad slack, bad bad slack.
Haven’t configured a similar invite to clojurians.slack yet, but if you dm your email, I can invite you. Are you birmingham based?
Leicester - <mailto:[email protected]|[email protected]>
yeah, it isn’t letting me login with my details - would you mind sending me an invite please
@colin.yates: I might be wrong (often am) but slack communities don’t share authentication details, so birminghamfp doesn’t trust clojurians etc. You will have a seperate account even if you have the same username / password. Again, I might be wrong but that’s how I’ve interpreted it.
I think you’re right - thanks for the invite Paul.
slack has totally different auth per domain, I think so they can encourage corporations to get corp accounts, which give you single-sign-on. (though their pricing model is a bit nuts, which is a problem…)
just got your email @paulspencerwilliams
@acron: yeah, they’ve moved to a new place. It will be interesting to see their new offices.
just wondering if there's any clojurians in the Milton Keynes area, if so, would you be interested in a monthly meet up?
