I'm sorry to hear that.
morning!
System booting....
We are the Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your ships. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile!

My favourite is “Keyboard not found, press any keys to continue”……… :face_with_rolling_eyes:
I'm using over-ear headphones for 2 reasons: blocks noise better and ... ear wax... tends to build up in in-ear ones. Is the latter somehow different for airpods...? It's probably not a popular subject to talk about
That brought to mind something I had pending to do: get myself ACS in-ear monitors. I've been using their custom-molded ear protection since 2019. Total game changer, you get flat frequency filtering (i.e. natural sound) and some 25db of attenuation - enough to not fear for hearing loss at concerts / events So now I want their earphones, which block outer sound (given the custom molding) and provide musician-grade sound quality https://www.acscustom.com/uk/products/in-ear-monitors airpods or whatever people are using with bluetooth / noise cancellation etc always seemed pish posh to me... always better to keep it analog 🤓
I have a funny ear story. I went for a hearing test ages ago and after the test was complete I was asked if I was a hunter, because I had a dead spot in my hearing that he’d often seen caused by rifle shot. I was really confused until I remembered my old workmate Tom. He sneezed so loud and abruptly. Not only did he scare the wits out of me several times a day, he created a dead spot in my hearing. Good old Tom!
I read that the ears have some physical mechanism that dampens the eardrum on loud sounds, but the sounds can be too quick for the mechanism to work properly. I fear that my son's sudden shrieks may have damaged my ears even more than they were already.
