The only +1 I have is something which gets the ns from a var so you can have it slightly different depending on the project (boot.user, user, dev)
I never use boot.user
for anything (other than tasks) as updating that is not very convenient
I guess duct projects use dev
but I haven't needed that yet
the function might be missing error handling, which was done by fireplace#session_eval
