I only got to know him after discovering video's on YT of the late late show... very funny indeed.

He was great... It was about an hour of funny stories about his life with various random tangents. Some very self-aware humour and some repeated back and forth with a couple of audience members he identified early in the set (a French Canadian woman two tables to our right, and an old guy sitting in the front row just to our left). He mostly stayed away from politics (but acknowledged he was in a left-leaning space for this show!).

Sounds great 🙂 I've long since enjoyed his Late-Night persona and his stand-up. I bumped into him in the BA Exec Lounge in Glasgow Int'l on my way to Clojure Conj 2018 and he was very gracious and friendly, so I was not disappointed by meeting him either 🙂

Yeah, he seems like a genuinely nice guy who has had an "interesting" life -- and lived to tell the tale.
