The one thing I noticed which was slightly disappointing is that it was published less that 2 months ago and there is a chapter on leinengen, but no mention of boot yet. Seems to be the case with all Clojure books on the market.

moin moin morning

I have a clojure question around https. Which channel should I ask, on #beginners ?

thomas08:10:02

a good starting point... but you can always try here... we sometimes do discuss clojure related things 😉

samfrench08:10:49

I am making a http request using clj-http.client and am using the keystore option. I am using crypto.keystore for the keystore but I don't think the cert setup is working as expected. If I import-cert, then export-cert by name to test this, I get a NullPointerException. I see crypto.keystore hasn't been updated since 2012, so maybe it doesn't work as expected, or I am doing something wrong. If anyone has any pointers in using certs that would be appreciated. I could do it using the Java keystore class directly, but I thought there must be a way in Clojure like the crypto.keystore.

thomas08:10:49

@sam.french I am afraid I have no clue... When I had a to do stuff like this we used self signed certificates and just ignored them 😇

samfrench10:10:51

Thank you @thomas. I'll carry on digging around certs and https.

maleghast13:10:31

You are welcome - always nice to meet new Clojurists 🙂

glenjamin15:10:41

eventual consistency?

guy15:10:03

is it the extra cost?

guy15:10:06

😂

guy15:10:10

I'm confused

guy15:10:54

its probably delivery costs or?

guy15:10:19

@yogidevbear if its not delivery cost, you can just ring them up and say the listed price is 679 and get it directly for that.

guy15:10:33

Larger companies usually honour their listed price

guy15:10:01

its like if u go into sainsburys and they have one price listed and then go checkout and its different, they usually give you a refund etc

yogidevbear15:10:05

They've changed the list price on the website since I looked at it initially

yogidevbear15:10:30

It's really weird. Like they've picked up it's being looked at and have pushed the price up

guy15:10:50

yeah its 699 for me too

yogidevbear15:10:51

Even checked in a private tab on a different browser

guy15:10:59

maybe you were just unlucky and they just changed the price

yogidevbear15:10:25

Lol, or they're cleverly dubious

yogidevbear15:10:31

¯\(ツ)/¯

guy15:10:41

seems like u can get it here for cheaper

guy15:10:46

the original price you had

guy15:10:00

its out of stock lol

guy15:10:02

sorry 😞

yogidevbear15:10:42

It's not immutable 😱 😉

guy15:10:06

😄

iaint15:10:33

apparently monarch prices were going up about £50 every 10 minutes yesterday, as they realised they were about to go under. maybe Currys is on its way out too!

yogidevbear15:10:15

Sorry about this Andrew. Our prices can fluctuate 2 or 3 times a day as we aim to be as competitive as possible. Having just checked our website, the appliance is now listed at £699. However, if you want to go ahead and place the order at this price, I can refund the £20 difference back to you. How does that sound? Rob

yogidevbear15:10:36

That was the response I got from ao

guy15:10:16

nice one

guy15:10:26

If u go directly u can usually get a better price

guy15:10:06

It makes sense from a sales perspective, they have got u to buy the item and still make a decent profit

guy15:10:46

 maybe this is a sales tactic, up the price so you complain, they offer a 'discount' so then u feel like you are getting a good deal

guy15:10:49

😂
