I created a PR for more Deps/CLI docs: https://github.com/clojure/clojure-site/pull/315
not sure what the process is for evaluating these
AOT is both unnecessary and a giant pain in the ...
(for all my snarkiness, the tip about needing to create classes
and having it on your classpath is a good one -- it bit me when I tried to manually compile stuff)
as much as it is not preferred, it is still necessary in some cases
@gfredericks mentioned the classes
thing in his talk at Conj -- I think it's a widely not-known thing 😞
Yeah, AOT is a necessary evil in some very rare cases. Knowing how to successfully compile
stuff when building JAR files, for example.
Don't worry, I'm just very grumpy about AOT 🙂
Have you watched his talk from Conj? Definitely worth it.
Not yet, still working my way through all of them
got distracted by #adventofcode lately
Ah, I've avoided that every year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Qm09YiUHTs&index=25&list=PLZdCLR02grLpMkEBXT22FTaJYxB92i3V3&t=0s for the direct link. Really good stuff!
