practicalli 2026-08-23

Off-topic: https://practical.li/cycling/ I've been using cycling as my primary activity to regain health and increase my fitness levels (and hopefully improved health thorough my later years). I've been capturing my cycling experiences over the last 20 years as well as sharing maintenance and bike fit tips. I completed the Dragon Ride event in Wales this year, cycling 154km and climbing 2,225km (over 3 mountains). The website includes the January to June training plan I used to 'survive' this event and surprised myself in completing the ride in 7 hours and 41 minutes (about 2 hours quicker than I assumed) It included reviews of cycling kit I really enjoy and starting to add reviews of tools & components I really like (some interesting ones from AliExpress). The routes and events added so far are United Kingdom (mainly Kent and Aberdeenshire) centric. Initial release: https://github.com/practicalli/cycling/releases/tag/2026-08-23 Note: this site was created from scratch using Zensical Static site generator and uses a different theme and navigation strucutre compared to other Practicalli websites. Its therefore a test case to see what would be involved in completely converting to Zensical (rather than using Zensical tool to build with the MkDocs config and theme).
