Sigh, the prefix-tree stuff is a bit hard to follow, seems to be blowing up on me for valid input.

I really only care w.r.t. making sure the new router works well with the same routing table as prefix-tree, to a point.

As someone who nominally maintains Pedestal - if you have a little trouble understanding some of the routing syntaxes, you have my sympathies. Just use table routes if you value your sanity. http://pedestal.io/pedestal/0.7/reference/table-syntax.html
