I played a bit with Strudel and it was fun! https://soundcloud.com/joakimv/it-never-ends of course im starting to immediately think if theres some way to port some of this stuff to overtone, so is there any ongoing efforts in that regard?
Yeah I was replying to OP's post about strudel, and suggesting that people want to try it should also try it in cljs. In fact I am very interested in piratidal and will give it a try later.
Yes: https://github.com/diegovdc/piratidal Didn’t finished the port due to lack of interest from others. I am not a huge Tidal fan, but wanted to learn how it worked. The core is finished (IIRC) and only thing left to port are functions, which shouldn’t be that hard.
cool!
Im just randomly playing around at the moment so I dont even know what would be useful to port to overtone.
Tidal/strudel is very popular, so I do think there’s usefulness to a port. I just didn’t see much response/interest at the time, but I also didn’t try much to get attention
hmm it would be interesting to port my strudel song to piratidal and see what happens
sure, ping me if you have any questions
it's nice to have something like piratidal, but it's more of a tidal equivalent. for strudel, I think a thin layer of clojurescript, or even just calling it directly will do.
I get what you mean @gzmask, though technically strudel is, like piratidal, a port of tidal but to JS. While piratidal is not focused on interacting with overtone, it’s would be fairly easy to extend to work with it’s API. That wouldn’t be the case with wrapping Strudel.
