Found out that now two of my favorite musicians (and the only ones I knew of making music of that kind at that quality) died. Starcadian last year in an accident, Kavinsky from a stroke a few months ago. So that sucks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hR-e_OjhalM&list=PLfiMjLyNWxeac75s56m0nEQGE-_j8POc6 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x77mB0jeqwA&list=PLCB_54AqMrM3liD1HjnfXAjiN6p8_oDFQ Here are two of their best albums. One track in particular that I listen to constantly only has 8.6k views on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mp4ALkC1LE

Very nice music, indeed! Sorry for your loss!

I will also say I guess a lot of people knew him from night call - I knew him from that follow up album

Kavinsky was my introduction to New Retro Wave. Without him I would probably not gotten to Perturbator or Master Boot Record

I need more in this genre i guess

if anyone wants them, I bought the flac/wav files for both's whole discography (I don't want to lose it, might start actually saving music like its 2005)

MBR is more towards metal, in a way, but there's a spectrum (it's a triangle)

Synthwave, Classical and Metal

> Without him I would probably not gotten to Perturbator I figure you missed Hotline Miami then?:)

Yes, actually, I'll get to it one day

But most important, from MBR I got to Keygen Church

Praise the Code. I put Tenebre Rosso Sangue on when I really need to commune with the heart of The Machine.

@emccue I didn't know about Starcadian, the music sounds pretty nice, sorry about their passing It immediately reminded me of TWRP. In case you haven't listened to it, "The Device", one of their early EPs is top notch from start to finish and has a similar overall feeling to the song you posted https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLibyzzAkmEYGGajALZaO55OH1ZLN7rQ-

yep, twrp is up there for me too

they even collabed once

i guess a few times

oh, niceeee, didn't know

I might have just (as in during the last 3 months) managed to turn my employer into a clojure shop. I still have a bit of trouble believing that I actually got through with this - but so far, there are no complaints. Obviously, with just two devs and a very llm hyped C-Level, I had heavy llm support for this too (especially for things like catering to the needs of Microsoft APIs) . But we now seem to be in a situation where we can actually build new features really fast, with very little llm usage (I am hoping we can phase that out entirely at some point)

Next mission (wish me luck): Make the company a sponsor (of me visiting #C04V12NPC and of the clojure community)

Clojurists Together is always looking for corporate members to help fund clojure development. 🙂 https://www.clojuriststogether.org/companies/

Ah yeah, thanks, that's the link I was looking for :) My estimate is about 1-2 more years of lobbying though:sweat_smile:

Totally understand!

You're the third person that said people were phasing out LLM usage! There's still hope! (please hire me, I need to get away from my Rails vibe-coded mess hahahhaha)

Team is still really small though 😁

Less is more, especially these days
