So I'm at AUSA in DC.. there's an undercurrent of "we can't buy it if Palantir or Andruil provide that feature". Even though, the Bad Monkey Intelligent Event Processor, written fully in Clojure, is anywhere from 500x-10,000x faster than Palantir at sensor fusion. The open source python libraries for these algorithms crap out an OOM, while we use <100mb of memory for thousands upon thousands of concurrent tracks. While I'm usually the heckler during Q&A during the massive presentations, I'm debating today asking them about this "we can't buy it, if they do it", mention we're faster by a very meaningful amount and then say, "I'm tempted to release it... as a bunch of Lisp code!" (thereby becoming the titular, Bad Monkey)
as someone that has worked in that space you have to 1. show your is 10x faster/cheaper 2. wait until the other blows up terrible in prod 3. go to step 1
