Just heard this magnificent prog song on an internet radio stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1gJcmbonnQ Gryphon - Checkmate (1974)

One of my favorite bands. Their first album is nothing like this and is mostly Child ballads with renaissance-y orchestration. They became more and more prog with each album. There's no band quite like them.

This was the first track I discovered by them and actually haven't looked past this one either :)
All of their albums are worth a listen, though only Treason sounds at all like Checkmate.
