Hi, I'm Marcin from the east coast of the US. I've been in the data warehousing/data engineering space in financial services for some time. I've read about and followed Clojure over the years. Would like to finally get deep into the language and the eco system. Build some stuff. Clojure checks off so many boxes for me, including getting into the data science space as we speak. Eventually, would like to give a startup a shot, obviously on Clojure. In the meantime, hope to learn a lot here!

Hi Nino, and welcome! What have been your favorite learning resources (asking as a complete newbie myself)?

Nino11:01:47

Hi Glenn, thanks! So I started by reading few books, for example Clojure for the Brave and True by Daniel Higginbotham and The Joy of Clojure by Chris Houser and Michael Fogus. I also found the videos from the https://www.youtube.com/@onthecodeagain/videos Youtube channel quite useful and the Clojure Deref https://clojure.org/news/2023/01/06/deref very interesting to understand a bit of the Clojure ecosystem :)

Thank you, @U01SLKTN8G3! I just learned recently that you can choose either "lein" or "clj" as your main tool... have you made a choice yet or are you still trying both?

Nino12:01:31

np @U04J8NRFKNZ ! I started with lein but recently I am just using a simple deps.edn file when creating new projects

Awesome, thanks again!
