Clojurians Log v2

Sort of related, why is there not a builtin like

(fn [from xf]
  (let [c (chan)]
    (a/pipeline 1 c xf from)
    c))

? Or put another way, is using the above bad for some reason, is there a better way, etc? I am afraid my old experience with RxJS might poison me in some subtle way.
