clojurescript 2025-05-08

Hello 🙂 Does anyone have any experience/doc/link about developing browser extensions with ClojureScript? I need to built one for personal use, and thought to use ClojureScript to learn more

I'd try searching in #announcements and #news-and-articles. Just the first two relevant links from the former: • https://github.com/jbhoot/enforce-browser-fonts • https://github.com/dvliman/cnn-chrome-extension

Could also be something that #squint or #cherry might be good at, if the interop needed with ClojureScript is too annoying or something.

Btw there has also been a similar question here in #replicant channel here https://clojurians.slack.com/archives/C06JZ4X334N/p1747041945295429 ^^^ so the recently released Dataspex extension by @christian767 might also be worth checking. https://github.com/cjohansen/dataspex

I'm I correct that webpack would be responsible for transforming the sourcemaps produced Google Closure into another set of source maps that would include the javascript dependencies, and those sourcemaps would be suitable for some reporting tool like Sentry?

if the final cljs output runs through webpack completely then yes. at that point those source maps are commonly referred to as "input source maps".

IIRC webpack had a plugin called source-map-loader for this, but its been many years since I looked at it

Thanks Heller!! That helps a ton.
