This maybe a stupid question, but can you use clojure to create java classes that don't depend on clojure? IE, just use it as a nice compiler? I've got a java project which I'm converting to clojure and it would be helpful to have one build system with hot code reloading etc, but still be able to generate out java classes that don't require the clojure lib for a specific subset of the code that's basically just staying java, I know I could just keep the java classes, but I'm having an absolutely terrible time setting up nice reloading semantics working in the repl when I change them, I keep needing to reboot the clojure runtime or get stale classes etc Any help from those with more experience than me doing interop would be appreciated :)
I haven't seen it used a lot, but yes at least some forms are possible. A few examples on this page: https://clojuredocs.org/clojure.core/ns#example-542692cac026201cdc326b76 Full docs: https://clojure.github.io/clojure/clojure.core-api.html#clojure.core/ns https://clojure.github.io/clojure/clojure.core-api.html#clojure.core/gen-class
Thank you 😃
