clojure-india 2021-12-26

Hi All, my first post in this group. Curious to learn how many folks are using clojure as part of their day job here. I for one, use it and the startup I work at (Amperity) is a clojure house:v: Also was hoping to check if anyone in this group would be interested to give a talk at Seattle’s clojure group (https://www.meetup.com/Seajure/) sometime

@kailash.subscriptions I'm confused what Amperity has to do with #clojure-india, then...?

I'm unsure where I implied that πŸ™‚; just dropped by to say hi and small intro about myself.

hehe... I suppose that's my own assumption that Seajure or Amperity had something to do with Clojure in India, because of the channel name. If not, carry on. πŸ™‚

Have been following helpshift folks early on (while I was in India) when getting started with Clojure and noticed the group here had some of them so popped in to say hi:v:

Also was hoping to find some speakers for the Seajure group which I'm running, since I know this community has some pretty awesome folks 😜

You'll find Clojure in production at serious scale at helpshift, gojek. thoughtworks india, nilenso and some other boutique consultancies have Clojure expertise AFAIK, Concur, Walmart labs have Clojure in production, but I don't know if they have India teams any more. There are several product startups using Clojure/Script whose names elude me at this moment. Anecdotally I've also come across several old-skool service companies that happen to hire for Clojure, Datomic etc. too. This stuff has gotten into big Fortune 500 /Fortune 1000 enterprise stacks, which the OG service companies inherit.

Thanks Aditya, that was detailed πŸ‘

@kailash.subscriptions Is Amperity in Bangalore? The Clojure community is pretty healthy there. Pune, too, but mostly thanks to HelpShift and @bg πŸ˜‰

@steven427 no not yet at least, Amperity operates out of US only currently
