"And then it dawned on me"

I watched Rich's conj talk yesterday - pretty good news overall, especially that one can have a selector wherever not just in the destructuring. Very nice, modest improvements that are not going to be an alpha πŸ™πŸΌ

It is indeed great to be getting some real changes rather than the eternal alpha library status. I think the community settled on Malli anyway.

Heh, we have 1.13 Alpha 9 in production (we've had every 1.13 alpha in production, I believe).

And we've used Spec in production for at least seven years now. With Clojure, there's really no reason to avoid alpha core or contrib libs.

it's going the right direction indeed.

I was knighted, then no longer delighted.

Random thought I had the other day: is Clojure the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenspun%27s_tenth_rule of the JVM/Java?

I wouldn't call Clojure slow and bug ridden.

IIRC the JVM was intended to be a dynamic Lisp-like runtime and Gosling just adopted the C-style grammar for Java to please the suits.

That's why Clojure fits in so well. The JVM is much more dynamic than Java's original design.

Clojure is more Java than Java itself lol
