Still here, not going anywhere.
Hey! Good to see you back here! What have you been up to?
Any reason you're sending every reply to the channel as well? đ I'm still at World Singles Networks but I suspect retirement is in my future (hopefully not for at least another year and I can get on Medicare), so we moved from the very expensive Bay Area to the very not expensive N.E. Ohio region đ No more earthquakes, drought, and wildfires! Lots of rain (and everything's green all year round) and some impressive thunderstorms. Lots of snow in the winter, which we missed terribly after decades in California.
I did not intend to send my last to the whole channel - don't know how that happened. Sounds like a good plan all round, I am not going to be able to retire in the next 10-12 years unless something dramatic changes, so I am glad that I already have my living situation covered out in the boonies.
Is anyone I know looking for an outside IR35 contract, in Clojure at the moment? I will ask in the jobs channel in a bit, but I am asking here and one other channel as I have been asked not so much for leads as recs.
I will be in a couple of months. What's your timeline like?
I'm sitting in the train telling Claude what to do on my machine at home. Too bad I can't also ssh into my machine at the same time. That would make it complete.
And I just realised that I can use cloudflare to set up an ssh connection.... trying that now.
Hmmm slightly more complicated as expected. Can't do it all remotely. But still a nice idea
since you are using claude via remote control (I assume) isn't that your ssh replacement? with ! rm -rf / you can execute commands on your machine (don't execute this one though, but do use the ! )?
if you install tailscale it's easy to make your machine ssh-able though from your laptop or whatever. It would've also solved your "how do I transfer a file from this to that machine"
Tailscale is pretty damn great. There are some open source alternatives too.
