Good morning! Still some winter left here this weekend, but the meteorologists are murmuring about warmer weather and rain πŸ˜•

All or nothing! Super rewarding in the moment, not perfect after the moment.

This kind of shenanigans taught me a lot about knee and foot anatomy though.

Yeah, that's a classic, unfortunately. My neighbour, who is a physical therapist says that a typical case for people around 40 is getting back into some sport and overdoing it, resulting in injury. An example being volleyball and knee injury because of the repeated strain from jumping.

it's without any doubt a runner's injury, caused by self-inflicted overuse

good luck with the recovery!

(I've messed up both of my knees, but have gotten them fully functional again with focus on building supporting muscle strength πŸ™‚ )

thanks, I hope to be a bit more mobile in the next days πŸ˜‰, Icepacs to the rescue

@gar do you play volleyball or it was just an example. I ask you because I play and I'm also 40 but I know that I should't overdo it if I want to continue to play.

Trailrunner here, overdoing it is kinda the point πŸ˜‰

I had some knee pain two years ago when I came back to volley but lucky me it's gone already. I guess I survivived by not overdoing it much.

Volleyball was a typical case for my aforementioned neighbour. Beach volley that is. Going from zero playing for years and then suddenly playing alot is the main issue. Gradually increasing the load should be fine for most, though, but I guess it's hard to hold back because it's so fun πŸ˜„

Morning!
