Yeah, that's a classic, unfortunately. My neighbour, who is a physical therapist says that a typical case for people around 40 is getting back into some sport and overdoing it, resulting in injury. An example being volleyball and knee injury because of the repeated strain from jumping.

I had some knee pain two years ago when I came back to volley but lucky me it's gone already. I guess I survivived by not overdoing it much.

Volleyball was a typical case for my aforementioned neighbour. Beach volley that is. Going from zero playing for years and then suddenly playing alot is the main issue. Gradually increasing the load should be fine for most, though, but I guess it's hard to hold back because it's so fun πŸ˜„
