this is Japanese knotweed: the bane of many gardens but it's behaving itself at our place 🤷🏼‍♂️

oh yes, it doesn't have a good reputation. It can grow under your house and destruct your foundation

at least foundations that are already a bit cracky, they can make it worse

but maybe if you're nice to it, it won't. just like some people think about AI ;P

In fairness it's fair distance from the house and I have made a wood / log dumping ground around and behind it which is serving to contain its spread
