Good morning all

anonimitoraf02:11:33

I'm curious, where are you guys located? And do you study or work (and which field)?

Oliver George03:11:47

Hello from sunny Tasmania. Condense builds business web applications and mobile apps using Clojurescript. Less server side clojure but it does happen.

Hugh Powell03:11:40

Also Tasmania, helping government departments and local government host data in an accessible format. Full stack Clojure for everything we write, although we've inherited all sorts of apps written in what appears to be the new hotness at the time the app was written.

How about a coffee sometime? Are you down south?

Hugh Powell00:11:44

Yeah, definitely. I'm in Hobart, away for the rest of this week, so how about next week sometime? Tuesday lunch time? I'm free most of the week if that doesn't work.

Oliver George02:11:34

Cool. Actually on holiday next week. How about the Tuesday 8th Nov. Salamanca suit? I'm flexible.

Hugh Powell04:11:11

Unfortunately I'm off to the mainland for 5 weeks on the weekend of the 5th. We should definitely do this in the new year though.

Oliver George09:11:11

Ah well. 2021 works for me!

Gold Coast.. donโ€™t actually write clojure for money, sad to say. Elixir.. but elixir is nice.

lsenjov05:11:33

Ipswich, working in Brisbane. Full stack clojure for health analytics

anonimitoraf06:11:03

Oh, interesting

anonimitoraf06:11:10

Didn't know Clojure was widely used here in Aus

anonimitoraf06:11:21

In fact, I haven't seen a single Clojure listing here in Melbourne

anonimitoraf06:11:35

Which job platforms did you guys find your jobs on?

lsenjov07:11:46

Well, this is a small startup, so I picked the clojure stack ๐Ÿ˜‚

lsenjov07:11:43

Plus, this job was a referred my way, so no job listing

lsenjov07:11:50

Where are you located Raf?

lsenjov07:11:00

What part of Melb?

anonimitoraf08:11:27

Oh right. I see. Oh come to think of it, I'm working with a friend on a possible startup idea and I've convinced him to use a Clojure stack ๐Ÿ™‚

anonimitoraf08:11:21

Victoria, Melbourne I work for an IoT company (not a startup, company's already 12 years old), our stack is NodeJS and I specifically write the soft real-time systems (Alerting, Data processing, etc)
