yes it was vscode...

What version are you on? What O/S? I'm on VS Code 1.107.1 and it's rock solid on Windows with the very latest Calva.

I would suggest disabling all your extensions, assuming you can get to the extensions panel? And then re-enabling one extension at a time until you experience the crashing..
