That feeling of wrestling with a block of code and going from it being indecipherable to understanding it and reproducing it is just awesome. I feel like I cleared a hurdle. It's a small one but it's a step in the right direction.
I believe there's something special about S-expressions that makes it feel even more like things are "snapping into place" when this happens than in other languages! clojure-spin
It's just so different than anything else I've used. It reminds me of 3D stereogram posters. If you're not familiar with them they're posters that, at first glance, appeared to be polychromatic geometric patterns, but if you look at them just right you see a 3D image in them.
I'm not quite at the "can't help but see it" stage yet, but I think that has more to do with my lack of familiarity with Clojure core. I'll get there though.
I like that analogy! So hard to see and then you can't help but see it.
