announcements 2026-08-25

First release of https://jlt-commons.github.io/raygui-jlt/ 24 raygui examples in Jolt (Clojure on Chez Scheme, no JVM). • raygui is raylib's immediate-mode GUI toolkit; this calls it directly over its C ABI through jolt.ffi - no wrapper library, no codegen, no C shim • 59 of raygui's 61 functions bound, plus a keyword-argument layer, in one namespace • Buttons, sliders, dropdowns, list views, tab bars, scroll panels, draggable windows, RGB and HSV colour pickers, six switchable .rgs themes • raygui is header-only, so the repo vendors the header and builds libraygui itself; there is nothing to install and no formula for it • A committed screenshot for every example, so the catalog browses without installing anything • One babashka task per example; bb check compiles all 24 headlessly • zlib licensed, matching raygui's own, since four examples are ports of raygui's

What is it's benefit over ring?

@d-t-w congrats! Good to see you post here. To clarify, the goal is to provide faithful access to the full Jetty API, right? It's not a ring adapter.

@neumann yes that's correct, more information in the post above.

Great article. Thank you!

No problem and thanks!

Hey @neumann while I've only ever had a small amount of interest in slipway in the past, I have had some DMs asking me for support/questions. If you think it useful I'd be happy to have a #slipway channel. I think, tbh the weight of maintainence is something that makes me thankful it's not a popular library.

Also the questions were mostly things that are covered in the readme, and other than that it's just Jetty-ish, so maybe not worth it

I think it makes sense to have a channel. Clojurians Slack has some very low traffic channels, but having a channel makes it easy to communicate with and get help from the right people.

Nice one, is it ok if I just go make one? Don't know what the etiquette is.

You know what I'll just go read the etiquette announcements info page or wherever that info is

Feel free to just make one.

Clojure 1.12.6-alpha1 is now available: • https://clojure.atlassian.net/browse/CLJ-2794 - gen-class - incorrectly treats interface default methods as abstract, throwing when the var delegate is unbound. gen-class now treats an interface default method like any other concrete method, i.e. calling the super when the target var is unbound.
