Ad AI disclosure) I just heard radio ad, and it had a disclosure that it was made with AI. And it annoyed me. I think, in the future there will be so much made with AI, that such disclaimers will be either abandoned, or ignored like cookie banners.
Surely, we won't require every website to ask if you want to accept, reject, or specify your AI usage settings.
I think it mostly falls into the "proper usage of a tool" category. If a problem is underspecified, an AI (just as a different human) can select whatever means that lead to the desired end. If there are no checkpoints during the process, an AI (just as a different human) will not be corrected along the way. To justify the "just as a different human" bit - adding Apache Commons Compress is a liability. It by itself has other dependencies. For quite a few people that's huge turn-off, so much so that maintaining their own version is worth it.
Yep, there are tradeoffs and in some cases the LLM’s approach might have been the correct one. Just not in this one. :)
They have learned everything from us. :D
