This might be a bit specific to what i'm doing

basically i want to know the size of a file that is about to be uploaded (forwarding on to S3). After trying, and failing, to do this is the 'proper' way (content-disposition), I've ended up having a 'file-size' part before the file part. So I need to know what that was before I start shuffling the file up.
