re data encryption: you can set up encryption within your choice of object-store - e.g. if it's AWS S3 then you can follow the standard S3 encryption-at-rest procedures

ah so would just be dictated by encryption available with object store be it S3 or Azure blob

yep 👍 we do also have a per-node disk cache on the compute nodes themselves - you can set up an encrypted file-system there too if need be
