Having given this some more thought myself it feels like a reasonable thing to be able to do. Exposing valid time information in the query is not part of the core as it stands today simply because we haven't thought about it. Feel free to open an issue for (or I can do it, if you prefer?), and the team will discuss it on our Monday standup.
