in intellij/cursive, after I change the state by adding a list item (in your example), how do I most easily update the state such that (log-app-state) will show added items?

ok, disregard... page reloading is now showing the changed initial app state (not sure why it wasn't updating initially but all good now).

Page reload is the only time that initial app state gets set.
